FAQ

Answers about auction purchase, LOT checks, price estimates, transport, customs and registration.

How does buying a car at auction work? +
First, the client chooses a vehicle or sends criteria for the desired model. We then check the vehicle information, documents, seller, possible risks and preliminary costs. If everything is suitable, an agreement is signed, a deposit is paid and we bid at the auction on behalf of the client.
What should I send to get started? +
You can send an auction link, LOT / STOCK number or a short description of the vehicle you are looking for. It is also useful to include the maximum budget you plan to spend on the vehicle.
Which auctions can vehicles be purchased from? +
Vehicles can be sourced from US and European auctions such as Copart, IAAI, Copart.de or Copart.fi. The US market is often chosen for wider selection, while European auctions can be convenient because of shorter logistics.
Do you check the vehicle before bidding? +
Yes. Before bidding, we check the vehicle documents, seller, history, listed damage and possible risks. This lets the client make a decision based on real information, not photos alone.
What is a deposit and why is it needed? +
A deposit is a guarantee that the client will not change their mind after a successful auction win. If the vehicle is purchased, the deposit is included in the total price. If the vehicle is not purchased, the deposit may be returned or kept for another attempt.
What happens if the client changes their mind after winning the auction? +
If the auction is won but the client refuses to buy the vehicle, a penalty may apply. The Titan Auto page states that it may be around 10% of the vehicle value, but not less than 750 USD.
What costs should be estimated before buying? +
You should estimate not only the vehicle price, but also auction fees, transport, service fee, customs services, duty, VAT, unloading, storage and transport in Lithuania. A more accurate estimate depends on the vehicle location, document type and country of purchase.
How long does delivery to Lithuania take? +
Vehicle delivery usually takes about 2–3 months, depending on the vehicle location, auction, port, logistics and customs process.
Do you help with customs and documents? +
Yes. When the vehicle reaches Lithuania, customs formalities and required documents are handled. After that, the vehicle can be collected or delivered to the specified location.
Can the vehicle be delivered to my city? +
Yes. You can collect the vehicle yourself or order delivery to your specified location in Lithuania.
What do “Salvage Title” and “Clean Title” mean? +
Clean Title means clean documents. Salvage Title usually means the vehicle was damaged, but may be repairable and registrable. It is always important to evaluate not only the title name, but also the actual vehicle condition, damage and registration options.
Which document types should be avoided? +
Documents that may mean the vehicle cannot be registered or repaired should be treated very carefully. These include Junk Title, No Title / Parts Only, Not Repairable, Scrap Certificate of Title, Bill of Sale and Certificate of Destruction.
How are vehicles classified by length? +

Short length guide:

  • Sedan (small vehicle) - up to 16.5 ft (5.03 m). Example: Toyota Camry.
  • Long sedan / SUV (large vehicle) - up to 16.6 ft (5.06 m). Examples: BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Can a vehicle qualify for 0% duty? +

Yes, in some cases an imported vehicle can qualify for 0% duty if its non-preferential origin is the United States.

This depends on the vehicle origin and VIN data, so each case must be reviewed individually.

Important: 0% duty does not mean there are no other charges. VAT, transport, document fees and other related costs may still apply when importing a vehicle.
